Vision. We want to show the world what care really is – an admirable and beautiful profession
The founders of the Myosotis GmbH, Jasper and Felix, did a four-month internship as caregivers at the beginning of 2017. They quickly realized that the public perception of elderly care had very little in common with the actual profession.
The negative media coverage is in complete contrast to the professional and loving work of the caregivers. The admirable work gets absolutely no attention and even the families don’t know what is happening in the life of their loved one. The information asymmetry between senior, relative and caregiver as well as subsequent conflicts did not let Jasper and Felix at rest.
Soon after, they decided to oppose this problem with an innovative solution. In close collaboration with nursing home providers and after 8 months of testing, they are proud to have created something, that brings the people in care closer together.
Jasper Böckel: Co-Founder
Prior to myo, Jasper was a strategic consultant at Stern Stewart & Co. in Munich and Dubai. He holds a BA (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University in Oxford and an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona.
Felix Kuna: Co-Founder
Prior to myo, Felix was an Investment Professional at Blackstone in Mumbai. He holds a BA (Hons) in International Business from Regents College in London and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona.
Forget me not
By the way, the name Myosotis is derived from the forget-me-not flower. That’s exactly what we are about: With myo, the caregivers can inform relatives about trips, events, or other activities. The families have the reassurance that their loved one is in good hands – in a home, that delivers on the service that they promise, day in and day out. The platform also improves the communication between the families and the residents themselves. Seniors tend to forget to tell their children or grandchildren about the different activities they have experienced during their day. With myo they have great topics for discussion.
Any type of innovation had to be in adherence of two things: 1) Giving care is at the center of everything and the caregiver has to save time. 2) Data security has the highest priority.
We are located in the vibrant city of Berlin. We strongly believe in the social and personal value of our idea. This belief motivates and connects us. Our strengths are manifold, as is our experience in renowned companies (Blackstone, Stern Stewart & Co, Ministry of Defense, Rocket Internet, Quilvest, Accenture,…). Our company acts in a customer-centric way.
