Installation & Account
RELATIVES/CAREGIVER: To edit contact information of your personal profile or that of your loved one, click on the menu icon in the upper left corner of your home screen. There you will find the option “profile settings” under which you can input and change personal information. To save your settings, click on “save”.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVER: In case you have a new email address, make sure to update it in your personal myo contact information. In order to do so, click on the menu icon in the upper left corner of your home screen. There you will find the option “profile settings”. Once you clicked on it, you can update your email address in your contact information. To save the settings, click the option “save”.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVER: To download the myo App, open the Google PlayStore for Android or the App Store for iOS. Once you search for “myosotis” you will recognize us by our logo. Select “download”. After successfully downloading the App, open it. Now you can register by using your personalized QR code provided by your respective nursing home operator. Scan the QR code using the scanner function of the myo App.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: In order to register with myo, you will receive an email from your associated nursing home operator. This email contains a QR code which you can scan using the myo App. Once you have downloaded myo and scanned the QR code, you will be redirected to the login page. Here you enter your email address. Next, you select a suitable password, which must consist of at least 8 characters, including one uppercase and one lowercase letter, a special character and a number. After completing this step, the App asks you to fill in your personal profile. After you have completed your profile, you are able to edit the profile of your relative. Now you can start using the App! (You can find a detailed description of the registration process in the tab “caregivers” or “relatives”).
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: The verification process of the myo App is done by scanning a QR code, which will be sent to you by mail or email from your nursing home operator. Once you’ve downloaded the myo App and scanned the QR code, the verification is completed. In order to complete this process, a working internet connection is needed. In case your roaming is not working or the internet connection is bad, the verification might not be possible.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: In the unfortunate case that your smartphone is lost – do not worry about someone else having access to your myo data. The myo App is protected by your personal password, which makes it impossible for a stranger to use the account. Once you have a new phone, you can again download the myo App and continue to use it as usual. If you are a caregiver and you have lost your phone, please let us know immediately: email@example.com.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: In case you want to use a new or a different smartphone, your account information will not be lost. All of your information is tied to the App and saved within our secure cloud service. Once you have downloaded the myo App on your new smartphone, log in with your login details and continue to use the myo as usual – all data is retained.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: You do not need to update the myo App because it does so automatically. In case you have turned off the auto-update setting, look for the myo App on Apple’s AppStore or Google’s PlayStore and tap on “update”.
Registration & Login
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: To log in to your myo account, open the App. Enter your email address and your password. To log out, click on in the upper left corner of your home screen on the menu bottom. You will find the option “logout”. Click on it to exit the App.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: You only login with your email address.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: In case you have forgotten your password, open the myo App and select “forgot my password”. Next, you will receive a separate email with a new QR code. You will then be prompted to enter a new password of your choosing and confirm it. Your password must consist of at least 8 characters, including one uppercase and one lowercase letter, a special character and a number. If you click on “continue”, you will automatically be logged in.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: To reply to photos, videos, text – or voice messages, click on the post that you want to reply to. Then click into the text box at the bottom of the screen. Next, click on the “send” button on the right to reply.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: myo commits to the highest data security and privacy standards. Only the caregivers who actually take care of your relative are able to access photos, videos, text – or voice messages. All other myo users have no access to any content directed to your family.
RELATIVES/CAREGIVERS: Sending and receiving photos, videos, text – or voice messages with myo is free of charge.
RELATIVES: You can access all shared content within the myo App at any time. For data security purposes it is not possible to download the content onto your phone or any other device.
CAREGIVER: As soon as you take a photo or video, this content is automatically saved on the smartphone you are using. Text messages and voice messages are not stored on your smartphone.
- iPhone: To enable an emoji keyboard on your iPhone, go to iPhone Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add Keyboard and select “Emoji Icons”. After the Emoji keyboard is activated, it can be used by clicking on the globe at the left hand bottom of your screen.
- Android: To use Emojis, tap the smiley icon. To return to the keyboard, select the keyboard icon.
CAREGIVER: You can switch between “Internal” and “External” communication on your home screen. If you click on “Internal”, you are automatically in internal communication mode. If you click on “External” on the left, you are automatically on external communication mode and connected to the relatives.
RELATIVES: In case you are the legal guardian or custodian of the respective nursing home resident, you have the chance to add a contact to the App. To add a contact, go to the “relative” option in the upper right hand corner of your home screen. On the page “relatives” you can now press the “+” button on the top left. Here you enter the name, first name and email address of the new member. The new member will receive an email with a QR code. After a short registration process they will also be able to use the App. In case you are neither a legal guardian nor a custodian of the nursing home resident, please get in touch with them to add a new contact.
If you were added, you will automatically receive an email with a QR code. Once you have downloaded the myo App and scanned the QR code, you will be redirected to the login page. Your email address is already entered as username, in a next step you choose a suitable password. After completing this step you will automatically be directed to your personal profile settings. Once you have completed your own profile and possibly the that of your loved one, you are ready to get started.
Privacy and Security
Your data is only available to yourself, your family and the respective caregivers. myo is a so-called data-processor. This means that we handle all of the data according to the specifications of the respective nursing home and not in our own interests. The data is 100% secure, inaccessible and the right of ownership remains with the user. We use your data only to provide services to you and the nursing homes. At myo, there is no misuse of your data for advertisement or suchlike.
Data protection has the highest priority at myo. Myo solely handles photos, videos, text- and voice messages in order to provide the service of the app. We handle data according to the specifications of the respective nursing home and not in our own interests.
myo only uses services of Microsoft Azure Cloud and its German data centers. This data is managed in trust by Telekom subsidiary T-Systems. In this way, we can make use of Microsoft’s innovative infrastructure while removing your data from US security authorities – your data is always subject to the strict data protection of the EU.
Yes. From the very beginning myo was designed to comply with the GDPR. The GDPR ensures that you have control over your own data. At myo, we welcome the strict regulations and continuously strive to comply with the high European data protection standards. Data protection compliance is a top priority for myo.
